Shireen Priya Meghe

Founding Member, Legal Consultant and Advisor

International Criminal Law

Shireen is a legal consultant and advisor at CSC and is currently working as a Research Fellow at Max Plank Foundation.


She previously worked as an advocate at the Bombay High Court, India where she primarily litigates service law, criminal law, and constitutional law cases. Shireen also served as a Legal Consultant with Global Rights Compliance LLP based in The Hague where she developed a manual for The Gambia to incorporate investigative best practices for prosecution of international crimes and serious violations of human rights into their domestic and situation-specific contexts. 


Shireen has also worked at the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals in The Hague, with Wayne Jordash QC as part of the defence team of Jovica Stanišić. 


Shireen holds an integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law degree from Symbiosis International University, India, and an Advanced L.L.M. in Public International Law from Leiden University with a specialization in International Criminal Law. Her areas of interest are capacity building of the global south in international criminal litigation, prosecution of international crimes and the crime of terrorism. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Bengali and has a working level proficiency in French.
