Yatana Yamahata

Founding Member and Consultant

Peace, Conflict, and Democracy

Yatana Yamahata is a consultant at CSC specializing in the areas of peace, conflict and democracy. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Graduate School of International Development (GSID), Nagoya University.


Her research focuses on the variegated processes of democratization in Asia, and in particular, Myanmar. She also runs Burmawave, an independent website that critically discusses the complexities behind the current political crisis in Myanmar.


Yatana holds an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in International Relations from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
