Conflict assessment

Collaborative, structured and systematic inquiry into the causes, dynamics and direction of a conflict in order to peaceably resolve disputes without recourse to violent actions. CSC’s participatory approach to conflict assessment focuses on collaboratively generating a comprehensive picture of the conflict system to help identify agent-induced drivers of conflict as well as unintended consequences of a conflict system’s behaviours. Such an approach increases the probability of successfully deescalating conflict by building strategies that address the complexity and non-linear dynamics that can work increase tensions between conflict parties and/or experiences of violence.
