Walter Aguma

Consultant & Advisor

Community Mobilization, Advocacy, and Field Research

Walter Aguma joins us from Kampala, Uganda where he is an established social worker, community mobilizer, researcher, and counsellor that supports justice and peace initiatives. He has years of experience collaborating with Survivors of violent conflict to rebuild their own lives. 


He is currently a Legal Assistant at Kampala Tax Advisory Centre as he finishes his Bachelors in Law at Islamic University in Kampala. He holds a Bachelors in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University and a Diploma in Law from the Law Development Center. He previously worked as a Litigation Clerk for the Legal Department at Uganda Revenue Authority and a Data Enrolment Officer at the National Identification and Registration Authority. 


As a proactive member of civil society, Walter worked as a Field Officer at Uganda Victims Foundation where he provided psychosocial support to War Survivors and generated data to inform post-conflict reconstruction strategies in Northern and Eastern Uganda. 


Walter also has experience working as a volunteer field researcher with African Youth Initiative Network, Advocates Sans Frontiers, and the International Criminal Court. Walter brings with him to CSC his values of fairness, integrity, and accountability as well as, strong analytical skills, compassion, empathy, and a great sense of humour. He is a proud member of the Lango tribe in northern Uganda and a devout Christian.
